FOHOLGAN Katsina Hosts Farewell Ceremony for National President Abdulrahman Marafa

The Katsina State chapter of the Forum of Heads of Local Government Administration in Nigeria (FOHOLGAN) organized a grand farewell ceremony in honor of its outgoing National President, Malam Abdulrahman Marafa.

The event took place on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Medical Health Workers Union Hall, Kabir Usman Road, G.R.A, Katsina. It was a moment of appreciation and recognition for Marafa’s exceptional leadership and contributions to the growth of FOHOLGAN, coinciding with the completion of his tenure in public service.

Dignitaries, government officials, and key stakeholders in local government administration attended the ceremony, commending Marafa’s efforts in strengthening local governance, promoting transparency, and upholding integrity. Speakers at the event described him as a visionary leader whose commitment to service and good governance has left a lasting impact on the association.

The event was not only a farewell gathering but also a platform to celebrate distinguished civil servants. Retired Permanent Secretaries across Katsina State were honored for their service, while the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, and his Deputy, Faruq Lawal Jobe, were also recognized for their leadership and contributions to governance.

Several prominent figures took turns to pay tribute to Marafa, highlighting his dedication and exemplary leadership. Among them were Iyan Katsina, the Head of Civil Service Katsina State, and Alhaji Mas'udu Almu Banye, a close associate of the honoree. Also present was the Chairman of Charanchi Local Government, representing the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Engineer Bello Yandaki, who is also the Chairman of Kaita Local Government.

The ceremony was marked by an atmosphere of camaraderie, appreciation, and well-wishes as attendees celebrated the legacy of Abdulrahman Marafa, describing him as a selfless leader whose contributions to the local government administration will be remembered for years to come.
